Their minds will be trained to perceive truth and validity and where they can apply the facts of what they know to specific contexts around them in sensible ways. The goal is to bring harmony to your mind.
At this age range, children innately question what they have learned and seek to make their knowledge internally consistent and logical. They want to understand and interpret the world around them and integrate it into a framework and worldview. They are trying to make sense of the world. Teaching students in this age range includes instruction in formal logic as well as more well-rounded explanations of the information they so dutifully memorized in the grammar stage. The instruction in formal logic is something sorely missing in today’s modern education system. When students begin to question, they must be taught how to question well. The Dialectic/Logic Stage is less focused on what the student is learning, but teaching them how to learn and seek answers.
“Dialectic is the art of following questions and finding arguments.”
